Due to the pandemic, the annual school election day was cancelled for few years. The objectives of this programme are to: (a) elect the President of Pupil Council 2023, (b) to give an early exposure to students on the process within the democracy system and (c) to provide a hands-on experience for students in the voting process. Being part of the Highly Immersive Programme, the school election day was conducted in English where students were introduced to new vocabularies such as polling station, ballot box, ballot paper, candidates, spoilt votes et cetera.  Two candidates namely Nurul Sheefa and Qhalish Rayyan were competing in this election and supported by the campaigning team of Pupil Council members. Both Team Sheefa and Team Qhalish had grabbed the opportunity in having the final campaign ...

School Election Campaign for Afternoon Session

Today both the School Election candidates Qhalish Rayyan and Nurul Sheefa had stayed back at school for a while in order to attend the Public Speaking and campaigning process for the afternoon session. The event was conducted by Mr Falakh, Mdm Ida Farhah and Mdm Iman which also attended by the Year 3 students. Th candidates had delivered their speech as well as the manifesto and had received positive feedback from the teachers and students.

Demonstration of Voting Process

All year 4, 5 and 6 students had attended a demonstration of voting process session conducted by Mr Hafiz, the coordinator for the Pupil Council, SK Jalan U3. Two volunteers from the students as well as two volunteers from the School Prefect Body had been chosen to demonstrate the voting process starting from registering at the counter, voting on the ballot paper to the casting of the ballot paper into the ballot box. Most of the students were excited to see the demonstration since it was their first time casting a vote in a School Election Day.
