GCED - Leadership

Global Citizenship Education (GCED) is a transformative approach to education that equips learners with the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes to contribute to a more inclusive, just and peaceful world. It is based on the belief that all learners have the potential to make a difference in the world, and that education can play a vital role in shaping global citizens who are responsible, engaged and committed to building a better future.

The Pupil Council GCED Leadership Module is a specific program that aims to use GCED principles to empower pupils to become active leaders in their schools and communities. The module covers a range of topics, including:

  • The role of global citizenship in education
  • The importance of leadership
  • The skills and qualities of a good leader
  • How to develop a vision for change
  • How to build consensus and collaboration
  • How to communicate effectively
  • How to work through challenges

The Pupil Council GCED Leadership Module is designed to be interactive and hands-on, with plenty of opportunities for pupils to apply the concepts they learn to real-world situations. It is also designed to be flexible, so that it can be adapted to the needs of different schools and communities.

The Pupil Council GCED Leadership Module is a valuable resource for schools that are committed to GCED and to developing the next generation of global citizens. By providing pupils with the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes they need to be effective leaders, the module can help to create a more just and peaceful world.

Here are some specific examples of how the Pupil Council GCED Leadership Module can be used to promote GCED in schools:

  • Pupils can use the module to learn about the UN Sustainable Development Goals and to develop projects to address these goals in their school or community.
  • Pupils can use the module to learn about different cultures and to develop activities to promote understanding and tolerance.
  • Pupils can use the module to learn about the importance of civic engagement and to develop campaigns to address issues that they care about.
  • Pupils can use the module to learn about the power of the media and to develop projects to use media for positive change.

The Pupil Council GCED Leadership Module is a powerful tool that can be used to promote GCED in schools and to empower pupils to become active leaders in their communities.
